Favorite Things
I love learning about other people’s favorites. It’s a cool way to learn more about a person but better yet, it’s an effective way to learn about interesting things you might not encounter otherwise. I think Oprah Magazine kind of started this trend (if not, they certainly perfected it!) of sharing the love of “whatever”.
So, here are some of my favorite things…anything from people, places, home decor, pet stuff (that might not have made into the pages of Houston PetTalk), editorials, books, thoughts, art, …anything and everything!
My Rescue Horse: Freedom
Most of my friends and family would say I was trying to do the right thing but made a wrong decision when my heart decided “we” should save an abused and neglected horse seized by Houston Humane Society in mid 2016. The turquoise waters have been a fascination of mine since I was old enough to look at a magazine. When I was in elementary school, I had a bulletin board in my room with my “dreams” thumbtacked to the board – the photos were of Tahiti’s blue waters and overwater bungalows, the Pyramids of Egypt and Navajo jewelry. I have loved turquoise for as long as I can remember (along with anything American Indian/Navajo). When I was a kid, we would visit my grandparents about once a month and on the way to their home, we would pass a hoky little TeePee that sold lots of American Indian trinkets, etc., and my happiest moment was when my Dad would say “yes” to my begging to stop and shop.
